The Most Precious Girl in Our Lives
Mother’s Day in the Philippines is celebrated by most people on the second Sunday of May, despite a 1998 presidential decree to move it and Father’s Day to the first Monday of December. It is not an official public holiday. Mother’s Day is kind of a big day here in the Philippines. This is largely due to the large place of mothers in Filipino culture. Mum is called the “ilaw ng tahanan”, which means “the light of the home” due to the love, cheer, and brightness she brings to the family.
Mother’s day is extraordinarily revered and therefore it is celebrated throughout the country with utmost zeal. The people there do not only celebrate the festival not only in honour of their own mother but they also revere their grandmothers, cousins, aunts, and every other female members of the family.
Our moms can be the most positive and important influence on our lives. Another reason why our mothers are the most important person in our life is because she is always with us, when we are happy and when we are sad. They help with hard problems in my life, and they is glad for some good things that we do. They help us to conquer our fears and problems, they give us strength to face our future. Having them in our lives is the most precious thing that we can be thankful.
